Life Lately | Moving & New Starts

I feel like it’s been ages since I sat down and wrote a blog post so I thought I’d make a cup of tea and do just that! It’s been quite a hectic few months; I’ve graduated, I turned 21, I’ve moved back to Manchester and, the big one, I GOT A JOB!!

There’s been so many changes recently and it’s so nice to just sit down and feel like everything is starting to fall into place. I’ve already written about graduation on here so I won’t dwell on it too much but I still can’t get over how good of a day it was.

The week afterwards I had my birthday weekend which was so much fun! I headed to Edinburgh Fringe Festival for the day and had a meal with my family. I always love getting to spend time with all of my family and it was a lovely weekend!

The day after my party, I moved back to Manchester into a new house with three of my best friends. It’s been so exciting to live in an actual house together (last year we were in private student halls) and we’ve loved having a gorgeous house to just sit and chill in. Even having a living room and a decent size kitchen is quite the novelty for us! Obviously, having a new house obviously meant a trip to IKEA which was lots of fun too. I’ve just loved being back in Manchester, seeing all my friends and finally feeling properly settled.

Because I’m back in Manchester, I really needed to get a job. Anyone who follows me on Twitter will have seen my endless tweets about applying for jobs. I don’t even know how many I applied for in the end, and I definitely received my fair share of rejection letters which was really disheartening. Luckily, I found that one of my favourite restaurants was hiring and I had a trial shift last week which I really enjoyed. I start properly next week but I was surprised at how nice it felt to be back waitressing. Everyone I met there seems really nice too so I’m looking forward to going back!

It’s definitely been a busy month or so, and I’m really excited to start my new masters course next month too (so stay tuned for some uni posts and videos). It’s safe to say that it’s probably going to be busy for the next few months too but I’m really excited for what’s coming up.
