5 things this week (#8)

It’s less than a month till Christmas and I am super super excited about it. Whether it’s walking around the christmas markets, listening to Christmas songs or even thinking about christmas decorations I am so ready! There’s something about this time of year which makes me super happy and I can’t wait for all of the festivities to properly begin. I’ve already got a few christmas presents bought and have a day set aside to go get the rest.

Mini Dutch Pancakes with White Chocolate

I started the week off in one of the best ways; going around the christmas markets and eating mini dutch pancakes with white chocolate with Bekki & Caya. These little pancakes of joy are absolutely amazing. I definitely need to head back at least a few times more to get some more because these are quite possibly the best pancakes I’ve ever has

My Grandad’s 93rd Birthday

This week was my Grandad’s birthday so I headed home for a night for his birthday meal. It was so lovely getting to see my grandad and some of my family, even if it ended up being a flying visit because of the weather.

The Big Clean

I’m not going to lie, are uni house was not looking its best. So, I decided to spend the night full on deep cleaning our house. Even though it took a while, I found it so calming cleaning. There’s something about making a space look neat and tidy which I find really relaxing. Plus, I did it whilst watching Strictly Come Dancing and whilst it may not have been the most exciting way to spend a Saturday night, it was definitely productive.

Going Cruelty Free

Recently, I’ve been trying to choose more ethical products and be more thoughtful with some of my purchases, especially when it comes to make up and skin care. Rhianna has written a fab post about her choice to go more ethical and I really resonated with it as it was something I’ve been thinking about in the past few weeks. I think it’s becoming increasingly obvious that the way we consume things is really affecting the planet and I really want to try and change a little bit to improve. I’m going to do a whole post on this in the next few weeks so stay tuned!

Keeping a Gratitude Diary

Whenever I saw people go on about having a gratitude diary in their bullet journal, I never really understood it. However, since restarting it, I’ve really enjoyed writing each day the things which I’m grateful/enjoyed/has made my day better. I’ve started to notice a trend already too, it’s much more about who I’ve spent time with and little things which improve my day rather than what I’ve bought. This is something I’m really going to try and remember when I’m wanting to go on one of my huge spending days.

How’s your week been?
